The Japan Consumer Innovation (JCI) Retail Scaling Team is seeking a Product Manager who contributes to our mission of developing retail scaling capabilities. The Retail Scaling Team, as the name suggests, actively innovates on how to efficiently scale Amazon JP's business through building and influencing tech, science, and product roadmaps. This role brings together business skills, empirical data, science/tech collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and external technology into learning about Amazon operations, product, and programs that increase and maximize our Retail business's efficiency. It's a unique opportunity to get broad exposure to Amazon Retail leadership and Tech partners of JP/worldwide. Key job responsibilities

  • Develop products and solutions essential to develop JP Retail capabilities, partnering with Retail Leadership teams, business SMEs and tech/science teams.

  • Lead and manage programs/products that improve Amazon's operational efficiency, which contributes to reduction of Amazon’s cost to serve

  • Identify business challenges/needs via deep-dives and propose future directions and necessary solutions to JP Retail Leadership for their alignment.

  • Define short-term and long-term vision and launch / pilot new initiatives

  • Build mechanisms to track progress of programs and measure impact

  • Collaborate with Global partner teams to leverage existing global solutions + programs and develop / adapt new capabilities for JP Retail.

  • Interact with various stakeholders (e.g. business, tech, data, legal, finance, etc.) at multiple levels to define and launch programs

  • Identify challenges and needs to evolve job scope and team mandate

A day in the life

  • Check in with Ops and Retail partners to obtain status updates and any roadblocks their vendors are facing for any operational performance metric

  • Dive deep with data analysis to identify root causes of any road blocks or issues, and offer action items to help bring to resolution

  • Sync with product team managing supplier performance dashboard to stay on track for launch in JP

  • Update stakeholders regularly on ongoing initiatives and new programs, utilization data from existing and newly created reporting mechanisms

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of program management, project management, or relevant experience
