Description

Amazon is looking for a forward-thinking leader to oversee a combined product, tech and science team where you will be responsible for decisions on optimal selection assortment.

We are seeking both an entrepreneur and an operator. You are responsible for the full customer experience metrics and free cash flow generation, and the forward-looking strategy for a complex and fast paced business. You will work closely with senior country leadership team, cross functional partners including product, operations, and tech partners to (a) devise and execute a long-range strategic plans, (b) run the day-to-day performance of the business and moving fast to course correct, (c) advocate for customer needs, (d) coach and mentor a top-talent team of product and program managers, (e) identify opportunities and prioritize the product roadmap in order to build systems and technology that scale across a multitude of datapoints.

The right candidate has thrived and succeeded in operating a new business in an environment where priorities shift fast and ambiguity is ever present. You know how to be scrappy but build for scale. You are an accomplished leader who understands complex issues, is data-driven, can prioritize well, communicate clearly and compellingly, and who understands how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with a strong, talented, team. Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree

· Minimum 10 years of being a successful, resourceful and hands-on track P&L owner in complex business.

· Native Japanese speaker / JLPT N1 + English full proficiency

· Deep analytical capabilities at both the operational level and strategic table

· Demonstrable ability to build lasting relationships and navigate complex cross-functional initiative

· Able to balance strategy with strong operational skills and able to understand, deconstruct, streamline and optimize complex, large-scale business processes

· Commercially astute, with strong focus and accountability

· Excellent business judgment, with a track record of generating ideas and solving problems independently

Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in: Numeracy (Maths, Economics, Engineering, Science), Computer Science, Philosophy, Politics, Social Science

· Fluency in both Japanese and English at business level

· Minimum 5 years of full GM and product ownership with a successful, resourceful and hands-on track record of running a complex business end-to-end combined with strong P&L results.

· Minimum 3 years’ experience managing mixed-discipline teams (e.g. commercial plus at least one other functional discipline).

· Deep analytical capabilities at both the operational level and strategic table

· Demonstrable ability to build lasting relationships and navigate complex cross-functional initiative

· Able to balance strategy with strong operational skills and able to understand, deconstruct, streamline and optimize complex, large-scale business processes

· Commercially astute, with strong focus and accountability

· Excellent business judgment, with a track record of generating ideas and solving problems independently
