Description

Amazon.co.jp is looking for an experienced senior manager who is a customer-centric, data driven and strategic thinking with a proven record with driving program launch and growth in a cross-functional environment. Beauty is one of key categories which Amazon put focus on innovating customers’ shopping experience world-wide. Customers in beauty industry are driven not only by convenience but emotional needs and trust to the site and there are large opportunity to improve customer experience in purchasing products on Amazon.co.jp. This role focuses on driving Amazon Beauty vision, proposing and executing JP focused initiatives to better serve Japanese customers’ demands and preference by leveraging external partner's assets. It offers exciting opportunities to build new products and programs by closely collaborating across multiple functions including software development, product / program managers, business intelligence, finance, legal and CS in both domestic and international teams.

This role is highly cross-functional and involves both tech and business to drive global initiative. You must think big, insist on the highest standard, and hands-on to handle daily and operational challenges that impede your programs' success.

A successful candidate needs to be a customer obsessed, think big, data and fact driven, have willingness to dive deep in areas you are not familiar with, and ability to make difficult tradeoffs when facing conflicts.

Key job responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Develop a strategy to drive customer engagement in beauty category in Japan and set ambitious goals to engage with key stakeholders like product managers, engineers, Legal, and InfoSec to launch new programs.

  2. Influence and gain alignment with internal stakeholders in JP, EU and the US about the strategy to achieve goals.

  3. Understand the technical complexity in depth in working with tech teams to remove frictions and conflicts towards product launch.

  4. Write working backwards documents on strategic vision and customer experience to ensure clear communication and coordination among internal and external stakeholders on goals and progress.

  5. Make decisions when facing difficult conflicts even with limited information to keep our customer experience bar high.

  6. Engage with external partners to drive the beauty strategy and collaborate where Amazon and external partners can both benefit from the partnership.

Basic Qualifications

  • 12+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

  • 6+ years of team management experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with end to end product delivery

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience engaging and influencing senior executives
