The Coca-Cola Company Senior Manager Strategy & Operation of Sustainability in Tokyo, Japan

Position Overview:

The Senior Manager of Strategy & Operations will be instrumental in developing and implementing short- and mid-term strategies, with a focus on World Without Waste and packaging sustainability. The individual will be responsible for accelerating the integration of the Sustainability Business Plan, establishing system-wide governance processes for sustainability goals, leading discussions with bottling partners on investment strategies, and collaborating with various teams to ensure alignment with the company's sustainability agenda.

Focus, Scope, & Impact:

Strategy

  • Lead the development of short- and mid-term Packaging Sustainability strategies, ensuring they align with overall business objectives.

  • Define and implement an integrated evaluation methodology for Packaging Sustainability that captures both financial and non-financial aspects of sustainability initiatives.

  • Work closely with Finance and Strategy teams to ensure investment strategies are in alignment with the sustainability agenda and contribute to delivering business value.

  • Leverage cross-functional and global networks to facilitate information exchange and expedite the execution of sustainability projects.

Operations

  • Partnering with Tech. Sustainability team, establish governance processes system-wide to ensure commitment to the company's 2030 sustainability goal, including securing bottler investments in the sustainability agenda.

  • Lead negotiations and discussions with bottling partners to define and agree upon a roadmap of activities and investment strategy aimed at achieving the 2030 sustainability goals and future targets.

  • Partner with the Customer & Commercial Leadership team to explore and capitalize on collaborative opportunities with key customers, tailoring solutions to meet their sustainability requirements.

Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in strategic planning and operations, with a focus on sustainability.

  • Ability to communicate complex sustainability issues effectively to diverse audiences both in English and Japanese.

  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans that drive organizational change and deliver measurable outcomes.

  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in cross-functional collaboration and influencing stakeholders at all levels.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with an ability to incorporate both financial and non-financial factors into strategy development.

  • Deep understanding of sustainability practices, metrics, and governance, with experience in leading sustainability initiatives within a large organization.

  • Proficiency in stakeholder engagement, negotiations, and ability to build and maintain strong relationships with partners.
