Google Program Manager, Regulatory Audits (Japanese, English) in Tokyo, Japan

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 4 years of experience with project or program management.

  • Experience working with external auditors or regulators.

  • Ability to communicate in Japanese and English fluently, to work on compliance guidelines according to local laws and regulations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 6 years of experience in project or program management, involving regulatory and reputation risk.

  • Experience with designing and operationalizing regulatory compliance programs for new and emerging regulations.

  • Experience driving the development of best practices, including the development of policies, processes, and training.

  • Experience working with information security compliance programs and audits, particularly audits involving technical code reviews and application security testing.

  • Ability to influence others in an integrated team of both technical and non-technical members.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, problem-solving, and investigative skills.

Alphabet’s Regulatory Response, Investigations and Strategy team (ARRIS) addresses high-risk issues as defined by Alphabet’s Enterprise Risk Management model that involve regulatory scrutiny, enforcement actions, and other proceedings such as shareholder litigation, internal investigations and data incidents, as well as other emerging risks across Alphabet and globally.

As a Program Manager, you will join a Global team addressing the highest and emerging risks pertaining to how we manage, support, and respond to audits required by various APAC based regulatory bodies. You will work closely with ARRIS’ APAC, EMEA, and US based leads as well as Google and Alphabet’s Legal, Office of Compliance and Integrity, Investigation, Communications, and Engineering teams to manage programs and projects that help identify, plan, solve and help the company adapt to Alphabet’s highest risks.

  • Coordinate, manage, and facilitate a portfolio of regulatory programs. Manage design of compliance programs via cross-functional collaboration with product and legal stakeholders.

  • Understand regulations to advice on the design of compliance strategy, conduct current state assessments, analyze capabilities for aimed state solution, develop relevant compliance artifacts (e.g., Risk and control matrix, policies, etc.).

  • Lead a portfolio of regulatory audits conducted by third-party external auditors or regulators for Alphabet, including technical audits involving Application Security Testing, Code reviews, Information Security controls reviews. Own the life-cycle including development of governance and processes.

  • Communicate schedules, priorities, and status to all levels in the company regarding the status of new and emerging regulations.

  • Ensure Program Management aspects are built and maintained for the portfolio of regulatory obligations.
