JOB TITLE: Manager of Finance & Business Support

DIRECTLY REPORTS TO: Cluster Director of Finance and Business Support

INDIRECTLY REPORTS TO: General Manager

FUNCTION / DEPT: Finance / Finance

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Summary – (Role Summary)

  • Provide management with timely financial analysis for effective decision-making.

  • Prepare all statutory and management requirements of InterContinental Hotels Group and Owners.

  • Develop financial strategies including IT strategies to help develop the business and review periodically.

  • Performs duties and projects as assigned by Direct and Indirect Reporting Managers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities – (Key Activities of the role)

1.Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Assists and provides financial guidance in the formulation and implementation of Strategic Plan, Budget, and KPO’s (Goals Program).

  • Prepares outlooks for forthcoming months and forecasts for the remainder of the year.

  • Prepares monthly position of actual results against budget, analyzes results, and recommends measures to meet budget.

  • Prepares consolidated quarterly position assessments for the General Manager.

  • Distributes outlook and forecast information as a management tool for operating departments.

  • Performs ad hoc cost-benefit analysis on various projects with Heads of Departments.

2.Financial Controls and Policies:

  • Implements and reviews financial controls and policies as required.

  • Analyzes financial and management reports.

  • Designs internal reporting systems required by the department and hotel.

  • Evaluates existing internal control measures related to accounting procedures and computer systems.

  • Perform checks and review of income audit and night audit reports.

  • Implements and maintains acceptable accounting practices and procedures as required by InterContinental Hotels Group Policy and generally accepted accounting practices.

3.Administrative and Compliance:

  • Provides administrative support to Management regarding policy enforcement, business advice, and operational assistance.Obtains appropriate legal counsel regarding the hotel's business practices and maintains awareness of local laws, rules, and regulations.

  • Recommends and maintains an appropriate list of delegation of authority for hotel management.

  • Performs duties required by the control’s checklist issued by IHG Regional Director of Finance and Business Support / Area V.P. Finance.

  • Manages internal and external audits when they occur.

  • Reviews operating equipment stores to avoid unnecessary/excessive purchases and eliminate obsolete items.

  • Works with Human Resources on manpower planning and management needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Must Required Skills

  • Good communication and writing skills in “Japanese”, “English” both.

  • more than 5 years budget and P/L management experiences

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.

  • Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities.

Experience

  • More than 5 years accounting, audit, budget and P/L management experiences

  • 4 years in hotel accounting or audit with at least one year in similar supervisory role
