Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Manager will be a key player in the successful execution of the Japan Safety Surveillance integration project. This dynamic role requires strong project management and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to drive teams toward achieving project goals. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, monitoring deliverables by close follow up, identifying emerging risks/delays and closing projects while ensuring alignment with overall project objectives.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Project Manager on the JSS integration project is expected to work closely with the Strategy Realization Lead IPV (strategic lead), Regional Safety Head, Asia Pacific (project lead), and Japan Safety Surveillance (JSS) Head to create a comprehensive project plan, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Primary focus of the Project Manager will be to monitor project progress diligently (including subprojects/tasks/activities), ensuring the timely achievement of objectives, while proactively identifying potential issues and roadblocks and bringing it to the attention of the project leads for resolution.

Project Planning:

  • Develop comprehensive project plan, outlining timelines, milestones, and resource requirements for the JSS integration project

  • Collaborate with the Strategic Lead, project lead, JSS Head, and other cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables (including subprojects/tasks/activities).Work with Strategic lead to conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success as required

Monitoring:

  • Monitor and control project progress, identifying and raising any potential issues promptly to Strategic Lead.

  • Provide status reports to Project Lead on a weekly basis, highlighting any potential delays and roadblocks

  • Anticipate resource needs to maximize productivity and bring this to Project Lead and Sponsors for discussions as they arise

  • Conduct regular reviews to identify areas for improvement and changes needed in the project plan

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Support the focus/sub groups as needed to plan and setup meetings, calls for agenda for each meeting, captures minutes of meetings and distributes to all stakeholders

  • Conduct periodic all-hands meetings to communicate project updates and milestones to all stakeholders, ensuring alignment with expectations.

  •   Bring the concerns and issues raised by stakeholders to Strategic Lead and Project Lead in a timely manner.

DECISION-MAKING AND PROBLEM-SOLVING:

Demonstrate strength in navigating project complexities and challenges.

Ability to analyze information, evaluate alternatives, and make sound decisions that align with project objectives and project goals.

Proactively identify and address issues, fostering a problem-solving mindset within the project team.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Project Management).

Proven experience as a Project Manager with a track record of successful project delivery.

Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Proficient in project management tools.

Fluent in English, native/fluent in Japanese
