POSITION SUMMARY

Surgical Sales Manager will report to Surgical Sales Director and generate growth and revenue by executing various daily commercial activities, professional education and promotional initiatives related to surgical applications of Impella with collaboration with Clinical Sales and Marketing. Surgical Sales Manager will contribute to establish sustainable relationships with key opinion leaders and physicians in local, regional and national cardiovascular care with particular focus on cardiac surgery and advanced heart failure through strong partnership with Clinical Sales Team and Marketing Team.

Surgical Sales Manager also focuses on identifying, hiring, retaining and developing talent through proactively managing performance in Surgical Sales department.

The ideal candidate for this role is a proven business leader in cardiovascular industry and has robust commercial experience and clinical knowledge in cardiology and cardiac surgery.

As Impella technology innovation is actively ongoing and Impella application is expanding, the candidate is highly anticipated to teach himself/herself continuously and build strong knowledge of both product and related therapies/procedures to identify unmet clinical needs and growth opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act and direct as a visionary sales leader in driving various surgical sales activities that support the Abiomed strategic plan and business outcomes

  • Design, plan and execute the surgical business activities under Surgical Sales Director’s supervision

  • Identify, hire, retain and develop talent through proactively managing performance in Surgical Sales department

  • Collaborate with functional departments of the company, specifically but not limited to Clinical Sales, Marketing and Clinical Education

  • Liaise with Marketing to further develop value added strategies, tools, and programs

  • Develop sustainable direct relationships with designated and identified key opinion leaders and influential personnel, establishing or elevating partnerships, to impact and maximize Abiomed’s image and maximize growth opportunities

  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, Associate degree or equivalent required; advanced degree highly preferred

  • English; writing and reading – business level / speaking and listening – business level

  • 5 or more years of successful experience in sales, marketing, education within medical device and/or cardiac pharmaceutical field

  • Healthcare industry experience required, cardiology and/or cardiac surgery, preferred

  • Excellent Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word skills

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Demonstrated critical thinking in fast paced environment

  • Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively, and frequently (oral and written)

  • A wish to travel, mainly domestic

  • Not “OR” but “AND” mindset

  • Demonstrated desire to attain the position
