Hess Corporation Regulatory Specialist Job in Tioga, North Dakota

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is a field-based compliance assurance role responsible for supporting Upstream and Midstream ND Operations in implementation of State and Federal regulations.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Represent Hess – establish and maintain relationships of integrity and trust with all regulatory agencies

  • Support Compliance by

  • Conducting OGI (Optical Gas Imaging) and AVO (Auditory, Visual, and Olfactory) surveys at both upstream and midstream locations

  • Support Methane Detection technologies i.e. LiDAR, CEM, etc.

  • Field support of identified Super Emitter Events

  • Complete Method 9 and Method 22 Visible Emission/Opacity Surveys

  • Participation in Respiratory Protection Program

  • FLIR camera certification (recertification every 4 years)

  • Visible Emissions certification (semi-annual renewal) for Method 9 & Method 22

  • Maintain a driver’s license per the Land Transportation Program

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • College degree or relevant experience

  • 2-5 years of oil and gas operational experience

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

  • Able to clearly and concisely communicate to all levels of the organization

  • Ability to collaborate and partner with other parts of the organization to influence regulatory compliance

  • Attention to detail and organization of tasks with deadlines

  • Ability to work at heights (tank battery)

  • Ability to work under air (H2S locations)

  • Ability to work in inclement weather

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing regulatory environment

  • Knowledge of production equipment and processes helpful but not required
