Description

The Day Porter is responsible for providing janitorial and light maintenance services in various types of facilities. This role involves regular inspections, cleaning, and addressing immediate maintenance needs to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and order in the facility. This includes cleaning floors and restrooms, emptying garbage cans and making minor repairs in areas of plumbing, lighting and carpentry. Moving equipment and furniture as needed, for cleaning or renovation purposes. This position reports directly to the Facilities Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine cleaning tasks, including dusting, mopping, trash collection, and cardboard removal within the office.

  • Perform minor repairs, such as fixing broken locks, resolving door lockouts, assembling furniture, and painting walls.

  • Carry out basic maintenance duties, like replacing light bulbs and ensuring all areas are properly maintained.

  • Assist with renovation projects, working alongside other team members and professionals as needed.

  • Report any facility-related issues to the facilities manager promptly.

  • Manage package handling, including the collection and distribution of deliveries from UPS, FedEx, Amazon, and other carriers.

  • Distribute office supplies, ensuring paper and other materials are delivered to designated areas within the buildings.

  • Provide event support, assisting with setup, takedown, and any additional tasks related to events at Proven IT or other venues.

  • Stock kitchen areas with snacks, drinks, and other necessary items to maintain a well-supplied workspace.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Proficient in using hand and electrical tools

  • Able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and drawings

  • Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors year-round

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a solid work ethic

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

  • C class license preferred

  • Experience in towing trailers is an advantage

  • Ability to walk and stand for 70% of Workday

  • Ability to bend, twist, and kneel daily

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
