GKN Automotive Value Stream Leader - 3rd Shift in Timberlake, North Carolina

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

People skills to include:

  • Integration and utilization of all core values in leadership

  • Performance Management- ability to manage poor performance as well as recognize and reward solid and superior performance levels

  • Coaching employees

  • Establishing, communicating, and tracking goals and objectives- includes team and individual

  • Communications: Ensures clear and concise communications-leads and conducts effective meetings

  • Team/Individual development-lead and coach employees and teams to higher levels of contribution, ownership and leadership in alignment with manufacturing strategy

Understands, utilizes and coaches employees in lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement

Financial skills to include budgeting, forecasting and reporting

Strong computer skills including use of electronic manufacturing/people systems (QAD, Oracle, KRONOS Dimensions, etc.)

Work with production planning to ensure customer demands are met to improve DSA

Manage facilitators to DL fluctuations per the 90-day forecast.

Lead continuous improvement and maintain a shop floor focus on people, safety, quality, delivery and cost.

Stimulate maximum efficiency and productivity through motivating, coaching and developing employees.

Leads development of and workforce transformation to high performance teams and increased “shared leadership.”

Acts as change agent. Ability to lead and influence employees at all levels in and through the change process.

Machine Maintenance experience necessary and general facility knowledge

If needed oversee other areas of the facility including service, maintenance and tool room.

Manufacturing / technical background to include product and process knowledge specific to function/site activity:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent Manufacturing experience in high volume environment (3 in leadership role).
