Location/Division: Tijuana, Mexico, Digital Platform and Engineering Team

What will you do?

You will lead a local engineering development team of 8-12 engineers to build high-performance, scalable and reliable software solutions for generative AI. You will partner closely with product management, business collaborators, architects, and external partner teams (mostly in the US) to craft, develop and deploy these solutions. You are technical and can be hands-on as needed. You will be able to guide the team in both strategy and execution.

  • Measure, track and report metrics in people, process and product

  • Accountable for engineering excellency, delivering software with quality and security.

  • Meet customer’s expectation in scope, schedule, budget and compliance.

  • Stay up to date with the latest Cloud and NLP/LLM generative AI techniques and trends.

  • Collaborate with product managers, program/project managers, business leaders to define technical strategy and roadmap.

  • Collaborate with architects to define software architecture (efficiency, stability, scalability)

  • Collaborate with project manager and external vendor teams on engineering execution, tracking dependencies, and removing roadblocks.

How will you get here?

Education

BS in Computer Engineering or related field preferred.

  • Proven experience in IT and software development delivering enterprise level on premise and cloud-based applications.

  • Proven track record building web, cloud based, and micro service architected applications (Java/Python/JavaScript/Restful API etc.)

  • 3+ years of AWS experience is required.

  • 2+ years of relevant technical or people leadership experience.

  • Experience working with GIT, Jira and Confluence.

  • Deep understanding and experience in software development practices including agile scrum, scaled agile, continuous integration and deployment, and fully automated testing strategies.

  • General understanding with NLP techniques, Prompt Engineering.

  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams is a plus.

  • Excellent at verbal and written communication

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including partnership, facilitation, and negotiation.

  • Ability to balance the long-term ("big picture") and short-term implications of individual decisions.
