In operation since 1971, the Ticonderoga Mill produces high end printing and technical papers harvested from Adirondack and Vermont forests. With over 600 dedicated employees focused on safety, environment, quality and production, we operate and monitor various pulping and papermaking processes and systems.

We are a fully integrated pulp and paper manufacturer located on over 2000 acres on the shores of Lake Champlain and produce over 900 tons of high value uncoated freesheet paper every day.

We’re seeking a Senior Health and Safety Specialist to support our established safety culture journey. You’ll be responsible for understanding the Mill operations, developing relationships with all groups of employees, auditing behaviors, and driving the safety culture toward improvements in safety performance. The selected candidate must be able to identify opportunities and drive sustainable change and will have responsibility for ensuring Ticonderoga is current with all corporate safety initiatives, policies, as well as governmental compliance. He/she will work closely with the Regional Safety Management team, corporate counterparts and peer group across the Mill system to accomplish goals. Active participation in activities outside the Mill, to include but not limited to OSHA events and networking with other manufacturing facilities is expected.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must possess a clear ability to lead others to accomplish a common goal. To be considered, the candidate must have the ability to manage and coordinate multiple and complex assignments. He / she must understand team dynamics; and have the ability to lead a diverse workforce. The candidate must be able to lead meetings, conduct training, have strong listening skills; as well as, have the ability to effectively manage change and handle conflict in the workplace. Qualified candidates must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others. A strong propensity to lead and manage the mill safety observation system in the pursuit of an accident free work environment is a requirement.

Position requires a bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety (or related field) and a minimum of 5+ years’ experience managing industrial health & safety programs in a broad range of manufacturing environments, an appropriate professional certification, or equivalent experience. Must be willing to travel up to 20 % of the time.

Annual salary range is minimum $88,700.00- maximum $147,900 plus bonus potential. The salary, other compensation, and benefits information is accurate as of the date of this posting.
