Lifeguard-Concession Stand Attendant

 As a Lifeguard for the Three Springs Borough Swimming Pool, you are to oversee the swimming area to ensure the safety of the patrons. As a Concession Stand Attendant you are to prepare and serve food and drinks for the patrons.

Lifeguard Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow the Red Cross guidelines to lifeguarding.
  • Monitor activities at the pool to prevent accidents.
  • Rescues patrons in danger of drowning.
  • Administers First Aid when necessary.
  • Inspects the pool for cleanliness, completes general pool cleaning and maintenance.
  • Cautions patrons of unsafe practices and enforces pool rules and regulations.
  • Maintains order in the pool and adjoining areas.
  • Responsible for the availability and safekeeping of emergency equipment.
  • Provide general information to patrons on pool operation.
  • Completes required paperwork.
  • Take new training courses if necessary.

Lifeguard Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of rules and regulations concerning the conduct of the public pool.
  • Knowledge of lifesaving procedures, including first aid and standard resuscitation measures.
  • Skilled in the application of lifesaving techniques.
  • Skilled in swimming.
  • Ability to act quickly and calmly in emergencies.
  • Ability to perform rescue actions, administer first aid and CPR.                                                                       

Lifeguard Qualifications

  • Must possess current Lifeguard, Community First Aid and CPR certificates, which are to be filed in the Borough office and a copy at the swimming pool.

Concession Stand Attendant Duties and Responsibilities

  • Keep clean hands when preparing food.
  • Prepare and serve food, beverages, or desserts to patrons.
  • Perform cleaning such as sweeping, mopping, and washing dishes and equipment to keep the facility clean.
  • Prepare bills for the menu items sold and except payments or make change.
