Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide internal support and consulting to Teledyne Aerospace and Defense Electronics business units utilizing Infor XA as their established ERP. This position’s primary focus will be providing financial, accounting and cost analysis system support to the businesses, complementing the existing systems analysis team which provides ERP upgrades, implementation, process development and testing, project management and training services. In addition, this position will also provide support for the customer service, procurement, manufacturing, and planning applications.

The Business Analyst will work with Finance leadership and business partners in support of the organization’s strategic goals. The main goal of this position is to work within the area of Finance and Accounting, responsible for business process analysis, design, implementation, education and training, and continuous quality improvement of those processes. The candidate will engage with Finance/Accounting end users to understand their business needs, discuss ways to achieve those needs, and recommend solutions. Provide liaison between business users and IT ERP Group to coordinate services. Must be comfortable and skilled at working with employees at all levels of the company. Help as requested with ERP Finance/Accounting activities for other business units. Find ways to stay up to date on ERP technology advances and make recommendations to improve effectiveness and efficiency. Must be comfortable using and generating documentation of procedures, plans, and timelines. Provide leadership on how Finance/Accounting aspects of ERP system is architected.

Position is Electronics and Communications Segment IT staff level – reporting to the Director, ERP-XA.

Detailed Description:

  • Business and Systems Analysis – resulting in defined business processes to meet accounting and costing requirements through effective and efficient application of the ERP system.

  • Identify, develop, and propagate the use of “best practices” financial processes throughout the Segment’s business units.

  • Provide support to Bolt On Financial packages as needed.

  • Coordinate process and system test and validation efforts

  • Provide both one-on-one and classroom/web based user training – develop training material tailored to the process and user community.

  • Coordinate efforts through Director, XA Systems Analysis and other internal and external consultants to assure consistent, disciplined process development and deployment of best practices throughout Teledyne XA installations.

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded background in finance and/or cost analyst with a knowledge of basic underlying accounting and costing principles.

  • Strong working knowledge of the financial modules of a major ERP system, including accounting and finance functions, order to cash, procure to pay and manufacturing cost accounting.

  • Experience with electronic / electro-mechanical manufacturing in commercial or government is preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), ability to collaborate with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders to develop system design/plans that address the business requirements and build out systems that support critical business strategies and document end user procedures for new processes.

  • Excellent understanding of business practices as related to Finance, Accounting, and ERP (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting), experience with government contracts is a plus.

  • Demonstrated project management skills – ability to prioritize tasks, focus on critical path elements, lead team of users and developers to achieve end goal.

  • Proven analytical/problem solving skills; demonstrated ability to dig into problems at detail level and reconcile system anomalies/problems with supporting data.

  • Team player – able to originate and exchange ideas for potential solutions, participate in final approach determination, and follow through consistent with team decisions.

  • Domestic travel required, potential international travel.

  • BA or BS in Accounting, MIS or related field with an emphasis in Accounting and Finance or equivalent experience is required.

Salary Range:

$74,800.00-$99,880.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
