ACCOUNTABILITY :
RESPONSIBILITIES:1/ Supervises the operation of Utilities equipment (boiler plant, refrigeration plant, air plant, as well as water and waste water systems, firewater and cooling towers)

2/ Works with Utilities leadership groups to optimize employee relations, morale and personal development in Utilities Department
3/ Practices and promotes Quality Management and Safe Working Principles

Qualifications
Education: Must possess a valid 1st Class Operating Engineer’s License, knowledge of Operating Engineers Act, Boilers, Pressure Vessels and fuels. Knowledge of all applicable TSSA regulations. Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in Power Engineering Technology or related field of study or equivalent knowledge and experience. Strong knowledge of power generation / transmission technology, water and waste water treatment including processes, procedures and related systems in a plant environment. Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations. Knowledge of computers and ability to operate computer systems and software applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, Power-point, Outlook, and to conduct research using the internet. SAP knowledge / experience would be an asset. High level of problem solving/analytical skills, strong organizational and coordination skills. Ability to work independently and within a team is required.
Experience: Related Utilities management experience in plant operations with a focus on power technology, systems, processes and project management. Must have related experience and be familiar with plant operations, systems, processes, procedures and experience with TSSA regulations on several levels. Proven experience with diagnostic, analytical and problem solving to resolve issues effectively. Previous Utilities related experience including planning, coordinating, organizing work or projects. Related experience in preparing reports and maintaining accurate records. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to deal with tact, diplomacy and courtesy. In addition, must have previous experience with Health and Safety practices and procedures in a manufacturing environment, ideally a chemical processing facility.
