Job Description:

Are you a strategic workplace relations professional that thrives in achieving great employee and organisational outcomes? Are you interested in taking your career to another level with the Golden Arches? Bring your talents and experience to our Workplace Relations team and have national impact across our iconic Restaurants.

What can you expect on a day to day basis?

  • Help our restaurants protect our people and our brand through tailored, expert ER support and advice.

  • Conduct complex investigations and help our restaurants to create high performance cultures.

  • Continuously improve our compliance performance, and help embed robust and effective compliance controls.

  • Support our Head of Workplace Relations deliver our People strategy through a range of ER/IR projects and initiatives.

  • Develop market-leading policies, toolkits, and compliance frameworks.

  • Partner with our Government Relations team to drive advantageous IR reform.

  • Lift the competency of our ER advisory team through support and training.

  • Partner with McDonald’s broader People, Legal and Operations Teams to develop and share best-practices across National Operations and our Franchisee network.

  • Participate in Cross Functional Teams representing the Workplace Relations team to achieve our strategic business goals.

Qualifications:

Your keys to success:

  • Demonstrated practical ER experience with a strong understanding of the legal frameworks surrounding employment, and the ability to translate these into best practice for the business.

  • Sound understanding of the Industrial Relations landscape in Australia including the role and function of the Fair Work Commission, unions, and employer associations.

  • A great listener, communicator, and trusted advisor who is able to hear and understand others, identify issues and provide clear, concise and accurate advice and support.

  • Organised, methodical and able to effectively manage and prioritise multiple complex matters simultaneously, and to a high standard.

  • Confident in building strong interpersonal relationships and ability to drive cross functional collaboration.
