To learn more, visit our . __ Position Overview:The Sustainability Intern works collaboratively with staff across the business to develop, implement, administer, and promote effective sustainability initiatives to reduce the company's impact on the environment. This position offers advice and solutions to upper management, staff, and interested parties regarding business practices that are in line with environmental conservation practices. This position recommends the use of procedures that utilize a wide variety of resources and technologies that reduce environmental waste and carbon footprint. This position will also work collaboratively with departments across DigiKey to maintain compliance with obligations and requirements. Outcome will include presentation of research conducted and recommendations. This is not exclusively an essential onsite role, though may require some onsite attendance. Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (Hybrid onsite and remote). Location can either be Fargo, ND or Thief River Falls, MN. Responsibilities: Aid with conducting research (at times, independently) based on directions given, specifically into the following areas:Investing in solar/wind energy, Sustainability/ESG/CSR Reporting for DigiKey, Propose, implement, and report out an Environmental Objective(s) Any research collected in these areas will help DigiKey further understand investment options (commitments of those, how they may support reduction goals), what reporting requirements apply to DigiKey, and help with achievement of any environmental objectives furthering commitment and impact reduction on the environment Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to possible reallocation of efforts to other organizations per business need and management request Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: Pursuingadegreewith one of the following focuses: Sustainability Studies, Environmental Science(s), Data analytics, Environmental Policy, Project Management (w/ environmental background / minor / concentration), Global Studies (concentrations in Environmental, Development, Business) A passion for corporate social responsibility and sustainability Demonstration of the following: attention to detail, communication, customer/client focus, ethical conduct, initiative, manages execution, personaleffectiveness, and positive attitude A genuine excitement for solving problems Physical Requirements: Generally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse, and screen Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body DigiKey Electronics is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
