Waste Connections Fleet Sourcing Manager in The Woodlands, Texas

Waste Connections, Inc. (TSX/NYSE: WCN) is an integrated solid waste services company that provides waste collection, transfer, disposal and recycling services in mostly exclusive and secondary markets in the United States and Canada. Through its R360 Environmental Solutions subsidiary, Waste Connections is also a leading provider of non-hazardous oilfield waste treatment, recovery and disposal services in several of the most active natural resource producing areas in the United States, including the Permian, Bakken and Eagle Ford Basins. Its Principal Administrative Offices are located in The Woodlands, Texas, 30 miles north of Houston.

Waste Connections is growing and adding an Fleet Sourcing Manager to our Corporate Offices in The Woodlands, Texas. The individual must be able to work independently, balance multiple projects simultaneously with consistent follow-up and effective communication.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing and procurement of revenue producing assets, supporting hardware, and services essential to the operation, ensuring that purchases meet required quality, quantity, at the most economical cost and timely delivery.

  • Coordinate fleet component campaigns, acting as the main liaison between the suppliers and field operations, to ensure optimum fleet performance.

  • Oversee asset disposal of replacement vehicles to include, but not limited to, the process, proceeds, and being the main liaison between the suppliers and field operations.

  • Oversee and participate in fair market value fleet evaluation to include, but not limited to, vehicle identification validation, transparency between the acquisitions team and valuation suppliers.

  • Review and evaluate specific chassis and body performance related to new products infused into the fleet, being the main liaison between the manufacturer and operations to navigate warranty claims, enhancements, feedback and troubleshooting.

  • Coordinate fleet major incident repairs, to include quotation evaluation for fair market value and communication between all parties to ensure the vehicle repairs are completed in a timely matter.

  • Oversee the Geotab platform for all new incoming vehicles across the fleet to include installation, activation and notification to district and region operations.

  • Oversee and coordinate all fleet Air Emissions compliance strategies across the fleet to include planning, scheduling, reporting and implementation as required by state and federal agencies.

  • Evaluate new supplier products, offer feedback and recommendations for future fleet enhancements including implementation and cost saving potentials.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education and Experience Education: A degree in business management or management of assets, Bachelor's Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited).

B. Four years+ of relevant work experience working in the transportation industry.

C. Experience with vehicle maintenance and repair in the transportation industry.

D. Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills.

E. Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, follow up and planning.

F. Proven ability to interface with all personnel levels throughout the organization.
