Speech Language Pathologist (Outpatient)
We’re looking for qualified Speech Language Pathologist to join our Texas Health family. Is that you?
Work location: Texas Health Plano, 6300 West Parker Road, Plano, TX 75093
Work hours: PRN/As needed, variable shifts. On-call weekend rotation required, coverage for acute care one holiday per year required.

Here’s What You Need
Master’s Degree: Speech Language Pathology required or
Post-Baccalaureate degree recognized by the American Speech Language Hearing Association required.
Previous outpatient speech language pathology experience helpful.
Adult neuro experience in an outpatient or rehab setting, highly preferred
Adult MBS experience, strongly preferred
Dysphagia treatment- MDTP and NMES, strongly preferred
SLP – Speech Language Pathology – Texas Speech Language Pathology License required or
SLP-I – Speech Language Pathology Intern; Texas Speech Language Pathology License upon hire required
SLP – Speech Language Pathology; Texas Speech Language Pathology License upon hire preferred and
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
What You Will Do
Essential Functions:
Performs age-appropriate patient treatment:
Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
Performs treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license.
Performs/delegates technical procedures appropriately and safely.
Utilizes a variety of treatment techniques to achieve goals, if necessary.
Determines patient response to treatment and evaluates progress (reassessment).
Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
Maintains patient safety throughout treatment.
Communicates with physicians and other healthcare personnel as appropriate regarding patient care issues.
Demonstrates competence in the performance of age-appropriate patient treatment and individualizes care based on age specific needs.
Motivates non-compliant or unmotivated patients to participate in therapy.
