TheDepartment of Pediatrics,Division of Pulmonary/Allergy/Immunology/Sleepinvites applications for a full-time position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor who is board certified/eligible in Pediatric Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine. The selected candidate will contribute to the department’s mission to educate health science professionals, discover and translate advances in the biomedical and social sciences, and model the best practices in clinical care and public health through clinical service, teaching, research, administrative activities, and other services.

Position Key Accountabilities:

The Assistant/Associate Professor will participate in the clinical, teaching, and research programs in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pulmonary/Allergy/Immunology/Sleep. The Division is committed to providing the highest quality of patient care as well as conducting basic and translational research relevant to pulmonary and sleep disorders in children. This specialist will provide consultations at variousChildren’s Memorial Hermann Hospital locationsand other hospitals and will have outpatient clinic responsibilities inUT Physiciansclinics in theTexas Medical Centerand outlying centers. In addition, the selected candidate will interpret pediatric polysomnography at the primary pediatric sleep lab as well as community labs. Most of the services are provided in a teaching hospital with a strong academic environment, as demonstrated by our Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine fellowship training program endorsed by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). There is great potential for program development in both the pulmonary and sleep services.

Qualifications:

  • Texas Medical License or eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License

  • Board Certified in Pediatrics and Board Certified or eligible for certification in Pediatric Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine.
