Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houstonlocated in Houston’sTexas Medical Center, the largest medical complex in the world is recruiting faculty for the academic rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor.

Cizik School of Nursing invites applications for full-time tenure and non-tenure-track positions in the specialty areas, maternal/pediatrics, obstetrics, pediatrics, psychiatric/mental health, acute/critical care, adult/gerontology, family health, community health nursing, medical-surgical, oncology women's health, nurse anesthesia, nursing informatics, and nursing leadership/administration.

POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Teaches and actively maintains research productivity (tenure track).

  • Teaches and maintains a relevant area of scholarship (non-tenure track).

  • Ensures didactic coursework (online and classroom as appropriate)

  • Supervises students at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels.

  • Provides direct patient care activities through clinical practice opportunities with affiliated hospitals and other healthcare organizations.

Other scholarly/institutional service responsibilities will be determined in coordination with the Department Chair.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctoral degree in nursing or related field (Ph.D., DrPH).

  • Eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in Texas.

  • Strong clinical background (non-tenure track)

  • Funded program of scientific research or show a strong potential for developing one.

PREFERRED:

  • MSN or related discipline

  • Funded post-doctoral fellowship or history of federal funding as a principal investigator.

  • Three years of experience as a nurse educator or nurse practitioner in a clinical and/or educational setting (non-tenure track)

CERTIFICATIONS:

Depending upon the specialty area (e.g. CRNA, NP-C).
