[**[GENERAL PURPOSE [[Assumes the responsibility for the maintenance of City property and equipment that includes but is not limited to performing skilled concrete finishing work on projects that include sidewalks, curbs, gutters, bridges, and drainage structures; light duty maintenance and construction equipment for public works construction, maintenance and demolition projects; and the operation of other related equipment.

[**[ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES [[Presence in the workplace on a regular basis is required to accomplish the essential functions, regular attendance MUST be maintained.

[[Participates in setting rails and forms and tying structural steel for concrete projects according to specifications on plans or as directed.

[[Directs pouring, spades freshly poured concrete, and screeds surface level with rails or forms.

[[Floats, dusts, trowels, grooves, and edges surfaces as required.

[[Drives dump truck to transport supplies or materials.

[[Operates three or more of the following pieces of light duty equipment: small motor grader, small dozer, backhoe, roller, bush-hog mowers, front-end loader, haul-type truck and/or other light duty construction, maintenance and demolition equipment

[[Operates equipment for the purpose of ditching, leveling, and smoothing to grade on maintenance and construction projects; hauling, dumping, and/or spreading of material [[Instructs and trains assigned workers on equipment used; regularly services equipment; reports repair needs [[Makes routine repairs and adjustments on equipment used

[[Performs strenuous manual labor, as necessary

[[Pickup trash/debris and clean up City owned properties.

  1. Three (3) years experience in construction work including work in concrete finishing and in the safe and efficient operation of light construction and maintenance equipment
  2. Any equivalent combination of education and experience
