The Sensor Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber (SC5) Department in the Digital, RF, and Power Products Team is seeking an experienced Senior level electrical engineer in the development and implementation of FPGA based designs for control and/or signal processing radar applications. The individual will be required to provide development support throughout product lifecycle, from initial concept to acceptance delivery to maintenance.

You will work as part of a highly motivated team environment and will collaborate with cross-functional project teams making up a larger program or internal research and development efforts. Our engineers are assigned to a manager of approximately 20 employees with similar skills. Each section manager is responsible for their members’ performance, career development and assigning tasks that balance the employees’ interests with current needs of the project teams.

This position can be for the Tewksbury, MA location or the Marlborough, MA location.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Owning or contributing to the successful completion of FPGA-based designs, on time and on budgetWorking with a team to determine the technical approach or solution to meet system level requirementsTranslate system level requirements into FPGA requirementsDesign and code in VHDL for reliability and maintainabilityCreate complete documentation including requirements, verification plan, and user’s guidesSupport internal and external technical reviews

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline *Minimum of 5 years of professional experience designing FPGAs using VHDL/Verilog (An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for two additional years of experience)Demonstrated experience with digital design and VHDL or Verilog codingExperience designing and integrating with AMD/Xilinx, Intel/Altera or Actel/Microsemi/Microchip FPGAsExperience using synthesis tools: Synplify, Xilinx Vivado, or Intel Quartus ProExperience and knowledge developing requirements for FPGA productsU.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. DOD Security Clearance within 1 year of start date. Qualifications We Value:

Experience using RTL simulation tools such as QuestasimExperience with Timing Closure and utilizing Chipscope / Signal TapExperience in AMD/Xilinx MPSOC, RFSOC, Ultrascale+, VersalExperience in Intel programmable devices Stratix X, AgilexExperience with high-speed interfaces such as GbE, SRIO, AuroraWorking knowledge in common computer hardware interface and data protocols such as RS-422, USB, PCIe, etc.Experience with RADAR system hardwareUnderstanding of computer architecture and computer hardware optimization techniquesProficiency in LinuxWorking knowledge of C/C++ and/or in computer scripting language such as Shell/Perl/Python a plusWorking knowledge/course work of signal & image processing, digital communications and/or control theoriesExisting security clearance

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
