[SUMMARY:

[ Laborers are responsible for safely operating fabricating machines such as shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, cutoff machines, spinning machines, punches, and welders. These machines typically cut, shape, bend, form, spin, and/or join metal plates, sheets, and tubes. In addition, Laborers are responsible for safely producing parts in accordance with the appropriate production standards and quality requirements. [

[ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

[Operate machinery to assist in the production process. [Read and interpret, blueprints, schematics, process instructions and/or job specifications. [Assemble materials and equipment as required. [Assist in loading and transferring raw materials to the production lines. [Inspect finished products for defects to ensure quality standards are met. [Perform other duties as assigned.

[EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

[Must have a high school diploma or GED. [Must be able to acquire knowledge to troubleshoot machine and equipment problems. [Must be self-driven and a hard worker with minimal supervision.

[QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

[Must be able to acquire ability to read and interpret blueprints or schematics. [Must demonstrate ability to safely use various hand tools and electronic testing devices. [Must demonstrate knowledge of, and ability to follow, safety instructions and procedures. [Must be able to do basic math calculations. [Must be able to read a tape measure and gauges as required for position.

[PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

[Must be able to work twelve (12) hour shifts for an extended period of time [Must be able to lift, push, and pull items up to seventy-five (55) pounds on a regular basis. [Must be able to work alternate shift schedules. [Must be able to perform all duties pertaining to the job. [Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time (typically a full shift). [Must be able to climb ladders, work in overhead areas, and in closed spaces. [Must be able to work around areas of high heat, and with oils and chemicals.
