About You and this Role

We have an exciting opportunity for aGeographic Communications Leaderwith oversight for the Benelux, France, and UK/Nordic to be located inTerneuzen,The Netherlands.

As a Geographic Communications Leader you are responsible for partnering with Dow country, functional and business leadership to reinforce and advance the Company’s strategy, build trust, and protect and grow business value in these countries.

Together with the Benelux communications team, you develop and lead the implementation of integrated, multi-channel communications plans that protect, build and drive Dow’s reputation and brand with key internal and external stakeholder groups; foster relationships at community levels; and drive employee engagement and alignment. You lead external communications for the UK/Nordic and provide leadership and guidance to the Communications Specialist for France.

Furthermore, you lead a diverse and supportive team of communication managers and specialists. They share experiences and expertise freely, and while they take their profession very seriously, they also believe fun should be an integral part of work. They are looking for a leader that supports, guides, and enables individual growth and development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implements integrated, multi-channel internal and external communications plans and programs to build a consistent positive brand for Dow, develop trustful relationships, and secure acceptance and support from key stakeholders in support of business objectives and priorities in country.

  • Counsel and partner with business and functional leadership in country.

  • Provide counsel and coaching to country leadership with regards to effective communication to key stakeholder groups.

  • Ensure consistency in messaging.

  • Partner with the Benelux Government Affairs team to ensure seamless alignment of communication activities with Government Affairs priorities.

  • Provide leadership for the geographic communicators supporting the Benelux and France ensuring communications strategies, budget and other resources are aligned and focused on the most important geographic imperatives. Supports the team with regards to work prioritization, workload, coaching, career development and administrative matters.

  • Manage communications around issues and handling of crisis communications with regards to crisis prevention and crisis management.

  • Manage community outreach programs (including Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)) and related communication activities.

  • Accountable for functional budget and resources in the country/region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Communications related discipline.

  • A minimum of 10 years professional experience in a relevant communication discipline.

  • Fluent in English and Dutch, written and spoken.

  • Strong organizational skills and business acumen.

  • Ability to work with a variety of cultures, functions and businesses and other stakeholder groups.

  • Very skilled in managing multiple projects and clients simultaneously - prioritizing a diverse range of projects and meeting tight deadlines.

  • A clear understanding of digital communications and the associated resource needs, along with excellent writing, editing and organizational skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, networking, problem-solving, negotiation and leadership skills.

  • Interest in and solid understanding of the EU and Dutch priorities for Climate Change and Circularity.

  • Ability to see the larger business picture and have a sound perspective on the key stakeholders and engagement strategies.
