Summary

Seeking a Leasing Agent who is responsible for assisting the property manager in maintaining all aspects of property operations, but with a concentration on the leasing, marketing, resident relations, and functions of the community. The Leasing Agent strives for 100% occupancy through retention of existing residents, leasing current availability and pre-leasing of future availability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Interviews prospective tenants and records information to ascertain needs and qualifications.

  • Completes lease form or agreement and collects rental deposit.

  • Handles electronic and manual bookkeeping functions, or credits renter account for receipts and debits account for disbursements such as upkeep and maintenance costs for assigned property.

  • Requests issuance of check for monies due residents.

  • Prepares vacancy, occupancy, traffic, reports and turnover schedules, etc. for internal use and external agency compliance.

  • Coordinates moving, inspections, dealing with tenant issues and related items.

  • Inspects condition of premises periodically and arranges for necessary maintenance.

  • Assists with eviction of tenants in compliance with court order and directions from supervisor.

  • Responds to emergency calls and situations as required.

  • Communicates and interacts with residents individually or in groups as required.

  • Compiles listings of available rental property.

Qualifications

  • Experience in working with LIHTC/Tax Credit/HUD/Section 8 regulations/forms

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Yardi or comparable property management software knowledge preferred

  • Bilingual - Spanish preferred

Salary/Benefits

$17-$19 per hour DOE

Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance, vacation benefits.
