Actalent Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician in Tempe, Arizona

Job Title: Fulfillment Pharmacy TechnicianJob Description

Candidates will be working at a Micro Fulfillment Center (a pharmacy network of facilities that dispenses and ships a variety of prescriptions to retail stores or to patient homes). The Pharmacy Technician Fulfillment is responsible for providing order processing support for fulfillment and/or assisting in the preparation and distribution of prescription medication via the use of the fulfillment system. Follows standard operating procedures and performs duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain proficiency in all medication dispensing areas and workstations.

  • Prepare bulk medication for loading into automated dispensing system.

  • Perform manual packing duties including packing and shipping, completing orders, verifying accuracy based on conformance to quality standards/specifications, and preparing packages for mail.

  • Affix labels to the appropriate containers.

  • Conduct cycle counts and put away.

  • Resolve order delay reporting as well as upgrade, expedite, and cancel orders.

  • Stock non-pharmaceutical products as needed.

  • Other responsibilities as judgment or necessity dictate.

Essential Skills

  • High School diploma from an accredited school or equivalent GED.

  • 1 year of work experience in a healthcare, specialty pharmacy, retail, or call center setting.

  • Current AZ Pharmacy Technician License/Registration in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy.

  • Standing for up to 10 hours.

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted.

  • Pharmacy technician certification.

  • Basic knowledge of and skills using MS Windows, MS Office Suite, and/or other similar operating/software programs.

  • Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in customer service, data entry, and prior authorization.

  • Experience in healthcare and insurance.

Work Environment

Hours are 7 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Overtime is available after a 4-week training period on Saturdays. Flexibility on hours is required, but candidates need to be able to work an 8-hour shift between the hours of 7 AM and 5:30 PM from Monday to Friday. Training starts every Monday beginning on November 4th, with the last training class starting on December 9th. The training schedule will be 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Contractors cannot miss more than 4 hours of total training time within the first 30 days. If time off exceeding 4 hours is needed, it is best to either not submit or potentially start later, ensuring completion of training before the sites go live on January 1, 2025.
