U-Haul Freight Processor - Contract in Tempe, Arizona

Location:

8162 S Priest Dr, Tempe, Arizona 85284 United States of America

6 MONTH CONTRACT

Pay: $15-16/HR

Under the direction of the Logistics Manager, you will be instrumental in processing, planning, tracking and handling shipment exceptions supporting Purchasing, Customer Service, and U-Haul Field entities, and any related projects.

Duties:

· Logistical collaboration and support with carriers, U-Haul field personnel, retail teams, origin, and destination operations teams to solve shipment delivery issues.

· Manage shipment tracking, defect and exception management in coordination with transportation service providers across Small Package, LTL, FTL, Ocean, Rail and Cross-Border movements.

· Freight cost and allocation research.

· Load planning, scheduling, tracking, and auditing.

· Carrier freight claim program research, filing and resolution on behalf of U-Haul.

Measurement for Success

· Complete assigned tasks in timely and accurate manner

· Demonstrate productivity gain through continuous improvement

· Develop, execute, and improve operations procedures with strong disciplines and establishing best practices.

Skills/Knowledge:

· Must be proficient in spreadsheet entry and reporting.

· Experience with automated self-service reporting tools, internal U-Haul programs and external carrier and TMS systems.

· Experience using data to drive root cause elimination and process improvement.

· Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

· Demonstrated experience independently managing tasks and ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.

· Mathematical aptitude, schedule, logic and reasoning, and basic accounting concepts.

· Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize, problem solve, plan, and organize. Impeccable attention to detail is essential.

Education/Training Requirements:

Either working toward college degree or Associate’s degree in business, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or other business related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

Must have 1 year experience in business, accounting or transportation/logistics field.
