The opportunity

Production Engineers at Unity are software and DevOps engineers who ensure that Unity’s services run smoothly and have the capacity for future growth. They are embedded in R&D teams and are core participants in every significant engineering effort underway in the company.

What you'll be doing

  • Promote infrastructure initiatives, improvements, and designs - focus on reliability, scalability, cost, and efficiency

  • Design, build, and optimize applications' containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes

  • Write and review code, contribute and promote engineering’s infrastructure, and debug the hardest problems

  • Maintain awareness of industry best practices and the latest tools

  • Help your team move fast by building, deploying, and monitoring its services in production

What we're looking for

  • Experience with cloud computing (e.g. Amazon, Google Cloud, etc.)

  • Excellent knowledge and experience with monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing production systems, including during off-hours and weekend shifts

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

  • Hands-on experience with two or more scripting languages (such as Bash/Ruby/Python)

  • Experience with Infra as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi

You might also have

  • Experience with Kafka and knowledge of best practices at the application level (produce, consume, batching, compression, etc..)

  • Experience in GitOps methodology and tools (e.g. ArgoCD)

  • Experience in relational & NoSQL databases (MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Aerospike)
