Fairleigh Dickinson University Adjunct Instructor- Critical Reading and Comprehension-Metro and Florham Campuses in Teaneck, New Jersey

Job Summary:

The Fairleigh Dickinson University Academic Support Center seeks to hire part-time faculty to teach multiple sections of its reading course in Fall 2024. Classes meet in-person, once per week, and positions are available on FDU’s Florham Campus in Madison, NJ and Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck, NJ.

Critical Reading and Comprehension is a one-credit course designed to improve students’ academic reading and critical thinking skills so that they can independently study college-level texts across disciplines. Placement into the course is determined by entrance exams, and students who enroll in the class often need support to meet academic goals and adjust to the university environment. We are looking for enthusiastic instructors who are interested in challenging students to make the most of their FDU experience.

Required Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree and experience teaching developmental reading and/or writing.

Candidates with high school teaching experience are also encouraged to apply.

Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
