WestRock Company Financial Controller in Tczew, Poland

Job Purpose/Summary:

Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager for Germany & Eastern Europe, this role will assist the Finance function for the MPS Tczew and Peremarton facilities, supporting the existing local organization in compliance with Company policies, Financial Planning & Analysis, and act as a leading business partner for operational and support functions.

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Business Partner with the operational & functional leads, provide support, guidance, and advice to both them and their regional management team

  • Execution of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, in particular ensuring the integrity of the balance sheet and the plausibility of the income statement, as well as ensure regional FM & Ops Director are informed on a timely basis

  • Complete relevant monthly reporting packs & requirements

  • Manage & prepare annual operating plan and quarterly forecasts

  • Act as a key driver for change, lead development & efficiency improvements

  • Lead financial control and assessment of CAPEX project, allocation, and forecasting for your sites

  • Monitor & implement internal controls in line with company policies and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Principles

  • Coordination of tax returns, financial statements, and other compliance matters

  • Key contact for annual audits/ tax topics

  • Support with strategic factory planning (medium and long term)

  • Manage the preparation of statutory annual financial statements & statistical filings

  • Supervise tax concerns including VAT

  • Management & development of local finance team including treasury, accounts receivable & accounts payable

What you need to succeed:

  • Completed degree in finance with at least five years of professional experience

  • Knowledge in the areas of accounting, controlling, and reporting

  • Proactive and hardworking and someone who can build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

  • Demonstratable experience of excellent analytical, numeracy, organizational and communication (including English language) skills

  • A person who is self-motivated, problem solve and can work independently

  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure

  • Able to present data to stakeholders in a clear and logical way

  • Proficient in MS Packages including highly competent in Microsoft Excel

  • Flexible individual willing to take on tasks outside the list above and taking ownership of all assigned tasks

  • Knowledge of the use of the SAP FI module and ERP systems with knowledge of Hyperion being desirable
