Job overview:
At WestRock, we’re passionate about quality. As an Assistant Quality Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards. Working within a fast-paced environment you will work closely with our Quality Manager and provide support to the Quality department on a day-to-day tasks. You will actively investigate and resolve customer quality queries, facilitate the success of continuous improvement teams, as well as identify any trends in quality issues before they become a problem.
How you will impact WestRock:
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Create and update various reports as requested by the Quality Manager.
Dive into data, uncover insights, and present actionable recommendations.
Customer Relations:
Investigate and resolve customer quality queries promptly.
Be the bridge between our products and customer satisfaction.
Continuous Improvement:
Facilitate cross-functional teams to enhance processes.
Identify trends in quality issues and proactively address them.
Audits and Compliance:
Lead BSI and third-party and customer audits.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and guidelines.
Team Development:
Train staff in Q-Pulse (Quality System) completion and management.
Foster a culture of quality within the team.
Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:
Analyze root causes of issues and implement corrective actions.
Make quality decisions even in the absence of the Quality Manager.
Communication and Documentation:
Attend site quality meetings and produce concise minutes.
Provide data to business managers and leadership as needed.
What you need to be successful:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Quality role
Working and some knowledge relevant accredited standards
Experience in a manufacturing/production environment ideally with experience and knowledge of Industry standards and guidelines
Fluent English
Demonstrable experience of change management
Supervisory experience
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques
Customer relations skills
Skilled in information handling, analysis, and presentation
Competent in using Microsoft Office packages
