Making Cents International Senior Organizational Strengthening Advisor, Georgia CCLA Activity in Tbilisi, Georgia

Under the USAID/Georgia Collaborating, Capacity, Learning, and Adapting (CCLA) Activity, USAID has requested support for a broad range of data generation and synthesis, collaborating, learning, and adaptation (CLA), capacity strengthening, and organizational development services that will support the achievement of USAID’s development objectives. The purpose of this activity is to enable data-driven decision-making; institutional capacity development; and evidence-based CLA within and amongst USAID/Georgia and its implementing and strategic partners to improve program management and development impact in Georgia. 

This position is contingent upon winning a contract award. 

Role and Tasks 

Making Cents International is recruiting a Senior Organizational Strengthening Advisor to support the USAID/Georgia Mission in developing staff capacity, organizational processes, and a culture of continuous learning. 

The Senior Organizational Strengthening Advisor will be responsible for leading capacity strengthening and organizational development (OD) activities. They will be responsible for the following tasks: 

  • Liaise with relevant USAID and implementing partner staff to develop strong relationships in support of OD and capacity strengthening activities.  

  • Support communities of practice. 

  • Manage development and delivery of training courses for USAID implementing partner staff, in coordination with other CCLA team members based on training content. 

  • Deliver an annual Georgia 101 training course for new hires and incoming staff. 

  • Develop and deliver core capacity strengthening sessions for USAID, on topics such as facilitation, public speaking, Google Suite, and meeting management. 

  • Organize, design, and facilitate regular OD sessions or retreats for USAID.  

  • Develop knowledge retention and transfer practices for staff onboarding and offboarding. 

  • Design and support implementation of a Young Development Professionals program for Georgian youth. 

  • Supervise and guide the Capacity Building and Collaboration Specialist and (as needed) providing oversight of select young professionals. 

Work Schedule 

This position is a full-time position (40 hours per week) based in Tbilisi. Georgia with occasional travel to other sites outside Tbilisi as needed.   

Required Qualifications 

  •  Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of experience, Master’s degree with at least 8 years of experience, or PhD with at least 5 years of experience. 

  • At least two years of experience in a supervisory capacity.  

  • Excellent English and Georgian written and verbal communication skills, including with diverse partners and stakeholders. 

  • Resident of Georgia.  

  • Experience with change management in complex organizational settings, including an ability to build internal and external relationships towards mutual goals.  

  • Experience with organizational development support for a large, multicultural organization, including tasks such as process improvement, culture interventions, and leadership support. 

  • Experience with developing and delivering training using adult learning methodologies on core professional competencies. 

  • Experience with facilitation of psychometric tests, ideally the DiSC model or a similar model. 

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in an advisory capacity, including working with and mentoring other team members. 

  • Experience with international donor-funded projects, ideally USAID. 

  • Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with organizational efforts to support inclusion and diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. 

  • Experience with or knowledge of human and institutional capacity development interventions. 

  • Knowledge of monitoring, evaluation, and learning as well as gender or other social inclusion issues.
