Kleinfelder is seeking a Project Manager reporting to our office in Salt Lake City, Utah. The role will be hybrid with remote, in-office, and occasional field work opportunities. The chosen candidate must be self-motivated, accountable, responsible, reliable, and have strong abilities to work autonomously, particularly when working from remote locations. The targeted individual is highly motivated towards meeting project and team requirements, technical advancement, and continuous improvement. In return, the candidate will be provided excellent learning opportunities and continuous support from highly trained specialists dedicated to developing top quality deliverables utilizing best management practices.

The candidate should have a minimum of a bachelors degree in civil, mechanical, petroleum, geotechnical, or geological Engineering or geology and about 6 or more years of experience in oil and gas, trenchless services, geotechnical engineering, or a related field.

A Utah P.E. license, or the ability to obtain one, is desired. We are looking for someone to provide leadership, management, and support for complex technical and field projects. Job responsibilities would include the following:

  • Coordinate with and lead multidisciplinary teams to prepare proposals and execute projects
  • Safely manage and execute field exploration programs and construction oversight activities
  • Perform, delegate, and oversee a variety of trenchless, pipeline and geotechnical engineering analyses.
  • Prepare engineering reports, memorandums, proposals, specifications, plans and other related deliverables
  • Be actively involved during the construction phase of projects
  • Development of scope of work, project budgets, work breakdown structures, and schedules
  • Manage project teams, budgets, schedules, delegate project tasks and mentor junior staff
  • Regularly coordinate and communicate with internal and external clients to understand their needs to ensure our services are meeting or exceeding their expectations
  • Recruit, mentor, manage, and develop staff to maintain Kleinfelder as a place to have a fulfilling career
  • Develop processes using industry best practices for project professionals to safely deliver trenchless design and field oversite services including field exploration, sampling, inspection, analysis, and technical support

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in civil, mechanical, petroleum, geotechnical, or geological Engineering or geology ; Masters degree preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Utah, or ability to obtain one is desired
  • Approximately 6 or more years of experience in oil and gas, trenchless services, geotechnical engineering, or a related field.
  • Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Ability to lead and manage project deliverables, budgets, and schedules while mentoring junior staff
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Working knowledge of standard business software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience using VBA in Excel a plus.
  • Clean driving record and the ability to pass a drug test required
  • Ability to commute to the office, external client meetings, and project sites within Utah and in the vicinity of Salt Lake City
