MFG & PROCESS DVL ENGINEER II (Plating)

JOB SUMMARY

  • Own DFM, PFMEA to optimize product/process/tooling design to realizes sample making and mass production.

  • Responsible for plating cost estimations, including line speed, precious metal usage, tooling type & investment, etc.

  • Ensure plating tool and process is designed to be capable of producing good quality products efficiently at lowest possible cost and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) requirements.

  • Introduce and evaluate new technology of plating chemicals to improve plating efficiency and meet cost saving target.

  • Travel to suppliers to supervise plating outsourcing management and involve in supplier management system establishment, evaluate plating engineering capability, conduct FAA and pilot run of suppliers, in order to ensure suppliers' timely delivery and meet quality requirement.

  • Work within a cross-functional team consisting of various process experts.

  • Collaborate with global experts to update and continuously improve operational standards.

  • Integrate feedback and lessons learned into new plating tools and processes.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or above major in Chemical/Surface engineering.

  • Be familiar with Ni, PdNi, Au, Sn/SnPb, Ag on copper or SUS plating process.

  • More than 5 years of plating process and troubleshooting knowledge/experience.

  • Strong experience with problems resolving in plating process.

  • Understand test standards for plating layer, such as salt spray test, nitric acid test, etc.

  • Good project management skills – Ability to work on several projects at once.

  • Effectively prepare and present technical knowledge within a group setting.

  • Fluent in using of basic process development related tools like DFM, PFMEA,DOE,FAA, CTAR,CAD.

  • Willingness to travel (50% travel).

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English – Written and Spoken.

Job Overview
