Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop the software architecture based on the requirements of the stakeholders or the company.

  • Create required codes using the most effective tools, applications, and other resources.

  • Develop user-friendly designs.

  • Complete documentation of the developed software and run significant tests while adhering to the project timelines.

  • Reverse engineering existing software application (i.e. documenting something that is already built)

  • Develop and direct software system validation and testing methods.

  • Train and mentor the project engineer working with the team.

  • Working closely with clients, stakeholders and cross-functional departments to communicate project statuses and proposals.

  • Analyzing data to effectively coordinate the installation of new systems or the modification of existing systems.

  • Managing the software development lifecycle and monitoring system performance.

  • Applying mathematics and statistics to problem-solving initiatives.

  • Applying best practices and standard operating procedures.

  • Creating innovative solutions to meet Collins technical needs.

  • Determines end user needs by analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition.

  • Coordinating several projects and complex engineering activities while balancing priorities and schedules.

  • May develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.

  • May train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards.

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or another related field.

  • 5 to 7 years of software engineering or software development experience, preferably in a related field.

  • Extensive experience with Java, Python, C++ and other programming languages

  • In-depth understanding of HTML5, CSS3 and CMSs

  • Experience in Program Management tools and methodologies is a plus
