Position Description

Warehouse operations/Heavy equipment operator. Responsible for the safe, efficient and quality-conscious unloading and loading of bulk and packaged commodities to or from barges, railcars, trucks and storage facilities. Assure the work being performed consistently meets or exceeds the expectations of the supervisor as well as published policies and procedures. An entry level position, the operator is assigned specific duties in warehousing under the close supervision of the lead operator or supervisor. The operator may be assigned to general duties in all areas of operations of the terminals. Extensive training in railcar, truck, warehousing, bagging, vessel operations, safety and environmental training. - Assist in bulk material transfer, bagging, storage, general maintenance and housekeeping activities. - Adhere to all KMT policies and procedures. - Participate in daily Safety Talks and other safety functions. - Work in a safe, efficient and quality conscious manner. - Report all incidents and near misses. - Upkeep of assigned equipment or tools. - Must take direction from supervisors, keep assigned work schedules, and work cooperatively with others. - Perform any other type of terminal function as trained and as instructed by the supervisor.

Position Requirements

  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds. - Ability to work at heights up to 80 feet - Must meet medical criteria for use of respiratory protective equipment - Demonstrated ability to execute customer orders and maintain necessary records - Must be eligible and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential as issued by DHS/USCG - Requires work in all types of weather conditions - Must be available to work all shifts and weekends - Must be available for assignments at multiple sites within a 50 mile radius
