Citigroup Vice President, Risk Reduction Metrics - Business Risk and Control Officer in Tampa, Florida

The Business Risk and Control Officer, will be a critical member of the MCA Transformation team within the Central Controls MCA Team. The Central Controls MCA Team owns the enterprise-wide framework and execution of Manager Control Assessment program. Within the Central Controls MCA Team the MCA Transformation team is responsible for the overall management of the MCA Transformation program, design of the Target State MCA methodology, implementation and monitoring of key metrics, and ensuring that all MCA transformation regulatory obligations are met.

This role will be focused on design, monitoring, and analysis of the Consent Order closure metrics to track transformation program progress, determine the root cause of material breaches of the agreed targets, and derive actionable remediation plans. Engagement with other verticals within the Central Controls MCA team related to MCA methodology, training, adoption, and quality assurance as well out stakeholders in the front-line business risk and control teams is expected as part of this process. This role will also assist, as necessary, with overall program governance of the MCA transformation program to ensure that all regulatory obligations and timelines are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in defining and implementing MCA Transformation program metrics that measure risk reduction as part of the MCA Transformation, developing associated guidance, and training content.

  • Drive actionable insights via monitoring and analysis of key metrics trending and breaches

  • Foster open communication and partnership with Central Controls partners and front-line business risk and control teams to drive effective root cause analysis and remediation.

  • Establish strong monitoring routines to ensure negative trending and breaches are identified, investigated, and remediated timely.

  • Review the identified issues, ensure the planned actions have been delivered, and provide strategic remediation paths for key issues if required.

  • Act as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

  • Assist with other MCA Transformation program governance activities, as required, including regulatory and senior management reporting / inquiries, program status updates, and RBCM closure.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

  • Help contribute to governance and the facilitation of the execution of the Manager Control Assessment (MCA, i.e. Risk & Control Self-Assessment) as required by the MCA Standard including the assessment and appropriate approval of risk associated with business changes.

  • Support teams in the quality, completeness, and accuracy of the implementation of the Control Framework, including Risk Control Policy, Control Standard, Issue Management Policy, Lesson Learned Policy and Control Inventory.

  • Support the review and challenge process, within the FLUs, on the effective design and management of controls to mitigate risks as required by the Control Standards, including implementation and operation, conducting the control monitoring, handling deficiencies, and escalating issues for resolution.

  • Help contribute to the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of the MCA through controls prior to the execution of a process (QC).

  • Assist in the monitoring of the adherence to the MCA Standard through controls after the execution of a process (QA).

  • Support in dealing with Operational and Compliance Risk in accordance with established Policy requirements.

  • Support with standards and procedures that conform to enterprise requirements and support sound operational and compliance risk management.

  • Apply knowledge of the business, products or services to identify and implement control points and processes throughout the business.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of experience in Business Risk & Controls, financial services, and/or data analysis and intelligence

  • Experience with metric design, data analysis, and business intelligence preferred

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

  • Effective organizational influencing skills required.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to see the big pictures with high attention to critical details

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategy and process improvement initiatives.

  • Exercise independence of judgement and autonomy

  • Ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision and lead other junior members of the team where required.

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred.
