Job Title: **Maintenance of Traffic Laborer

Must have the following to apply:

  • Minimum of 1 year in Maintenance of Traffic / Temporary Traffic Control or related industry (i.e. Road Construction, Highway Maintenance, Construction)
  • Repeated physical effort including driving for several hours per day or several hours at a time, standing and walking for extended periods of time (more than several hours), loading and unloading equipment into and out of company vehicles, walking on varying ground surfaces and frequently lifting a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Working from elevated platforms, ladders or truck beds
  • Operating hand/power tools, manual dexterity to operate keyboards and smartphones, physical agility to use arms, legs and hands repetitively
  • Working outdoors, working safely under adverse environmental and weather conditions which include traffic areas, heavy construction equipment, fuel fumes and construction substances
  • Comfortable around vehicles moving through work zones and maintaining constant awareness of surroundings on construction site including placement of machinery and equipment, other employees and construction activities
  • Vision adequate to see moving vehicles, read highway construction MOT signs, read instructions, manuals, reports, and construction plans
  • Hearing adequate to hear approaching vehicles, audible commands at a distance from supervisors, conversations in person, and over the telephone
  • Communication - both written and verbally, ability to complete daily paperwork as required by supervisor
  • Working a flexible schedule which can include day or night shifts, weekends and/or holidays, adjusting to a changing work schedule, working overtime and working individually and as a team with other employees
  • Valid driver's license required, will require passing MVR and controlled substance test, may require background and criminal record check. Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
  • Must maintain company standards post-employment for background checks, criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing

Desired Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 2 years in Maintenance of Traffic / Temporary Traffic Control or related industry (i.e. Road Construction, Highway Maintenance, Construction)
  • Able to communicate clearly both written and verbally

**Job Description: The Maintenance of Traffic Laborer is required to perform temporary traffic control operations in order to maintain traffic on a roadway construction project in a manner that protects and conveys the public within a specified work zone. Certain duties will be under the supervision of an Advanced Maintenance of Traffic Laborer. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, company policies and procedures and safety guidelines

Duties and Responsibility: Includes, but is not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions may be required as deemed necessary by management personnel to contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Perform the following duties - some self-directed and others under the supervision of an Advanced Maintenance of Traffic Laborer.**

Set-up and maintain traffic control devices, installation and service work-zone signs, and lights

Set up and maintain assigned Maintenance of Traffic activity including and detours and lane closures
