Position Overview

Job Description

The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. seeks a Software Architect in Tampa, FL with the ability to telecommute with appropriate telecommuting systems for up to three days per week, with a minimum of two days per week in the office. Participate in all aspects of PNC's Tempus development organization activities. Specific duties include: (i) work with business stakeholders to validate business and quality requirements that act as software design drivers; (ii) review and evaluate software designs to determine satisfaction of requirements and design drivers and for compliance to standards; (iii) work along a strong software design thinking team and be an expert in using technology to accomplish business objectives; (iv) design a system using Design patterns with Secure, Scalable, Reusable, Maintainable and Quality aspects; (v) lead development teams through the proposed software design solutions; (vi) establish software design and architecture best practices; (vii) perform Application Security, and Performance Analysis and Tuning; and (viii) perform governance of development and Quality Assurance teams to insure implementations are in accordance with the agreed upon software design and solution(s) and meet established standards and best practices.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management Information Systems, or Computer Science plus 5 years of experience with Microsoft.Net technologies for web, windows service, web service, batch and standalone application development and maintenance is required. Must have experience with: (i) developing and unit testing components and creating help documents; (ii) developing custom Point of Sale software using Visual C++ and Pervasive SQLi 2000 database for credit, debit, and gift card processing and integrating with third party payment solutions; (iii) requirements gathering from business users, performing analysis and creating technical design documents; (iv) leading application development and maintenance projects using waterfall methodology including adopting architecture design patterns ASP.Net MVC and ASP.Net Web API and building high quality and scalable solutions; (v) capturing technical and security related requirements, high level solution design, code review and QA testing and providing implementation support; (vi) implementing projects in Agile SCRUM using solutions built on Angular, typescript, Oracle VPD, and ASP.Net Web API 2.0; and (vii) .Net framework, C#, ASP.Net, JavaScript, typescript, HTML5, Angular, jQuery, relational database design, and SQL query performance tuning for SQL server and oracle databases.

40 hours/week, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

IT Architecture – Knowledge of and ability to design and improve organizational IT structures and blueprints in order to better support business operations and efficiently achieve organizational objectives.

Platform Architecture – Knowledge of technologies and methods to design processing mechanisms and roadmaps to execute business application systems; ability to design these roadmaps and deploy supportive interfaces for end-users to access related systems, in accordance with standards and processes.

Products and Services – Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

Service Oriented Architecture Technologies – Knowledge of the technologies used to enable excellent IT service for business clients; ability to develop, implement and support a variety of such technologies.

Software Process Improvement (SPI) – Knowledge of formal software process improvement disciplines, and ability to assess and improve the quality and operating costs associated with an existing application.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
