Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

  • Assist mechanics with troubleshooting as needed.

  • Parts identification and making reqs for items found to be needed and not in stock.

  • Work on project task as assigned after any ongoing issues or current issues passed down are addressed.

  • Work online for troubleshooting as well as uploading and downloading PLC and VFD programs. NOTE: it is understood that this requires time reading and practicing so space will be available in the engineering office for them to use.

  • Locate, use and make new OPLs regularly.

  • When applicable train mechanics on troubleshooting as they are to support maintenance not fill in for them.

  • Electrical PMs on cabinets checking all terminal connections in absence of all other request when equipment is down.

  • Proficient with calibration of hoppers, gen2 load cells adding and teaching PNs on formation HRD and fillers.

  • Learn to program and troubleshoot all marking systems ( pin printers and lasers.

  • Identify needed improvements or corrections and lead the process to completion.

  • Enter information on WOs and update through email the maintenance and production supervisors on corrective actions taken when downtime over 1 hour occurs.

  • Update the engineering and maintenance manager about progress on assigned tasks.

  • Support on PMs if needed, supporting mechs, adding reliability to the equipment.

  • Off shift support. If needed to stay over or come in early to support with troubleshooting.

Hard Skills

  • Electrical troubleshooting (24v to 480v)

  • PLC Modifications

  • Reading electrical schematics

  • Fanuc PLC troubleshooting

  • Root Cause Analysis

Work Environment

Lead battery plant; industrial, dusty, dirty, hot environment; head-to-toe PPE required
