The Walsh Group Lead Maintenance Technician - Tampa / St. Petersburg, FL in St. Petersburg, Florida

Overview

Walsh Infrastructure Management, a member of The Walsh Group is currently seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician for the Tampa I-4 / I-275 , in Tampa / St. Peterburg, FL .

The Maintenance Technician will conduct field maintenance and repairs to accomplish contractual requirements. Ensure completed work meets contract obligations and specifications. Work with and or assist subcontractors. Conduct maintenance and repairs of Roadway assets including but not limited to drainage systems, asphalt and concrete paved surfaces, guardrails, vegetation, lighting, roadway signs and all other components associated with the maintenance and care contained within the roadway/contract limits. Must be available after regular business hours or weekends for emergency response and accomplish work in a professional and respectful manner. Ensures work meets contract specifications while working in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Creates safe Maintenance of Traffic (M.O.T) control by setup and removal of traffic control devices including cones, message/arrow boards, temporary signage, etc.

  • Must be able to work from heights in bucket trucks, scaffolding, ladders and aerial platforms lifts.

  • Proficiently apply knowledge and skills to maintenance/repair roadway asphalt, concrete pavements and associated components as required.

  • Repairs and maintains the functionality of roadway systems and associated components/assets utilizing mechanical equipment, power tools, basic hand tools and equipment.

  • Assist varied crew and equipment on work sites operating vehicle large trucks and specialized motor vehicles and trailers.

  • Required to be available for emergency response rotations as need for overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Provide assistance with preparation of third-party claims documents and incident report documents; Able to identify MRP and inspection failure and report findings to supervisor.

  • Conduct daily assessments such as pavements, signs, guardrails, turf condition, vegetation, lighting and other contract requirements and report finding to Supervisor.

  • Provide analysis of work needs based on condition assessments and contract performance requirements.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years roadway maintenance or other highway maintenance related experience preferred.

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (Required)

  • Requires good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling or sitting for long periods; may be required to work in adverse weather conditions; ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening

  • Highly Desirable experience, certification and licenses:

  • Commercial Driver License (CDL)

  • Commercial Pesticide Applicators License for Vegetation Management

  • Intermediate or Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)

  • Heavy equipment operation experience

  • Concrete forming experience

  • DOT certifications in concrete, asphalt, soils and compaction & inspection
