The Corporate Development Director plays a very important role in helping Coke Florida identify new and emerging business partnership opportunities across the state of Florida. This role will actively seek out local business leaders, customers, and key constituents to partner with and work on strategic initiatives. The initiatives should focus on expansion, growth, and innovation. This leader will look for opportunities where Coke Florida could/should be a strategic partner in this projected growth.
This role will also play an integral part in driving the franchise relationship with Coca-Cola North America (CCNA) to ensure that Coke Florida benefits from the funding, tools, resources and processes that CCNA offers to its bottling partners. Partnering with the Coke Florida Franchise Leadership and Business Integration Director, this role will act as a CCNA corporate liaison, engaging the right CCNA leaders in Atlanta, by leveraging existing relationships and partnerships to drive favorable Coke Florida outcomes.
Specific Strategic Accountabilities
Identify and fully develop the Ambassador Markets of Orlando and Miami by being a local influencer and partnering on local innovation initiatives using innovative brands, cutting edge technology and best in class global system ideas. Bring to life these two global destination markets for Coke Florida and The Coca-Cola Company globally.
Help Coke Florida obtain its Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) status/certification and then leverage this certification as a differentiator to partner with new accounts that are focused on partnering with minority owned firms. These accounts will include colleges, universities, airports, government entities, etc.
Create and execute an Urban Center strategy that focuses on key urban centers like downtown Tampa (e.g. local accounts around the convention center) that are experiencing significant growth in their urban center geographies. Focus on areas that experience high visitation, conference centers, and places where people congregate. This is where innovation and creative partnerships can capitalize on the influx of potential consumers.
Deliver a strategy that allows Coke Florida to fully tap into the military presence that is pervasive across the state. Identify new ways to partner with the military from a customer, consumer, employee and community perspective. Engage the appropriate Coke Florida teams to create and deliver holistic strategies and comprehensive plans. Be seen as Coke Florida’s go-to military point person, knowing the most senior leaders and influencers at each location.
Effectively transition FSOP to the future leader of Customer Management for Coke Florida. Draft an effective transition and onboarding plan that will help enable quick assimilation and immediate success.
Additional Major Duties and Responsibilities
Actively partner in leading the process to understand the CCNA Franchise Leadership resources available to Coke Florida and help deploy them across Coke Florida
Develop and deliver the corporate development strategy that will help Coke Florida connect its business to emerging opportunities across the state
Aggressively identify opportunities where leaders across all types of businesses and key constituent segments are thinking about, planning, or actively engaged in launching initiatives that will drive innovation, growth, and customer and consumer engagement in a differentiated way
Identify potential Coke Florida strategic partnerships through targeted event participation, building local industry connections, targeted searches using available technology and by establishing local relevant memberships in groups focused on the stated outcomes above
Represent Coke Florida at targeted events that could ultimately lead to increased sales, profits and new strategic partnerships
Partner with other bottlers and local company leaders to identify mutually beneficial opportunities and outcomes where resources can be pulled together to create more impactful results

Typical Day in the Life of the Corporate Development Director
Attend targeted events to connect with a targeted customer, government official or other business leaders in an effort to identify how Coke Florida can partner in an emerging opportunity
Use online search tools to identify potential partnerships and development opportunities
Track and log new opportunities, existing identified opportunities and the progress made against launched opportunities
Conduct face to face meetings with Atlanta based franchise partners ensuring that Coke Florida is getting its fair share of the resources, tools and funding
Report out to relevant Coke Florida leaders on emerging market opportunities and progress to date
Meet with relevant Coke Florida leaders and team members to identify the appropriate resources to leverage on targeted opportunities
Meet with other bottlers and external companies to understand potential partnership opportunities

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
15+ years progressive business experience
Prior customer management experience
Strong Coke system knowledge or comparable industry experience knowledge
