The Communications Intern will support the day-to-day strategic communication work of Skanska’s USA Building-focused communication team. The Communication Intern will have the opportunity to develop external communications materials, in addition to developing national and regional internal communications materials to help facilitate information sharing, partnership and collaboration across teams and geographies. The communications intern may focus on developing materials like media pitches, press releases, thought leadership pieces, content for Skanska owned channels, etc. Our intern will help coordinate and participate in events with community partners, and even visit local construction project sites.

Commmunications Intern Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate pursuing a degree in communications, English, marketing, journalism or similar from an accredited college or university

  • A creative thinker with a passion for storytelling

  • A self-starter with good project and time management skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • A team player and an individual contributor, who is equally comfortable working as part of a team and working independently

  • Experience working/familiar with digital and traditional media

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud;

  • Experience coordinating/creating/editing video is a plus

  • Interest or experience in the construction or commercial development industry a plus.
