Global Dimensions Advanced Professional Interpreter/Translator in Tampa, Florida

Global Dimensions is a HUBZone, service disabled, veteran-owned small business based in Fredericksburg, VA. We are a dynamic, expanding company with exciting opportunities in language/culture, training/education/instruction, IT, cyber security, and intelligence (analysts, CI, HUMINT, SIGINT, etc.).

Global Dimensions is recruiting for an upcoming opportunity and seeking candidates who will be available upon award.

Global Dimensions is seeking Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian-Creole, French, Arabic, Farsi, and Korean interpreters and translators to provide language services to the U.S. Government (CONUS and OCONUS).

In this position, the candidate will:

Provide foreign language support services, including transcription, and translation/interpretation at an advanced professional (ILR-4) level. Subject material may be technical in nature.

Travel OCONUS to provide local area support as needed, functioning as an on-site coordinator for short (1-3 week) periods.

Requirements

  • Must possess a university level education (bachelor’s degree equivalent)

  • Interagency Language Round Table (ILR) level 4 Advanced Professional Performance in Interpretation and/or Professional Performance in Translation, or equivalent in both Target Language and English.

  • Equivalency includes:

  • Interpreters qualified at the Seminar and Conference Level by the Interpreting Division of Department of State Office of Language Services, language professionals qualified by the UN, etc.

  • Previously prequalified (within the last five (5) years) for DTRA interpreting support

  • Passed the Seminar or Conference Level test administered by the Interpreting Division of the Department of State Office of Language Services (qualification at the Department of State Liaison/Escort Interpreter level is not sufficient and further screening shall be required)

  • Passed the Competitive Examinations for Language Positions (CELP) administered by the United Nations

  • Membership in good standing with the International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC), and / or The American Association of Language Specialists (TAALS)

  • Valid Passport
