Kuehne+Nagel Software Engineer (m/f/d) in Tallinn, Estonia

If you most of the time know, what you are doing and rest of the time you are willing to learn, we would like to challenge you! We are looking for a passionate Software Engineer, to join our awesome development team.

Your Role

Our development team is taking care of Kuehne-Nagel customers’ tools as well as our employees’ internal tools. The biggest ongoing projects and challenges involve ‘big data’ application for global customers’ and other business critical tools. In existing projects, together with your teammates, you will be focusing on development and improvements in fairly established technology stack. In the new projects, developers of the team are the technical wizards in our wonderland, with the opportunity of brining in and working with latest technologies in the field.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop Java-based customer facing web products

  • Design and implement automated test-cases for your code

  • Follow clean code practices

  • Take responsibility for quality and long-term maintainability of the developed software

  • Work collaboratively on definition, specification and design of a modular and integrated software products

  • Build solid knowledge in logistics business domain

  • Deliver functional and technical documentation when appropriate

  • System maintenance and operational support

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Hands on experience in active software development (preferably using Java 11, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Git, Maven, Oracle, Jenkins)

  • Have academic degree of computer sciences or equivalent education/knowledge

  • Understand the mechanics behind the agile methodologies, trust in self-organization and communication

  • Have taken part in large-scale projects

  • Know why you should care about clean code

  • Experience with Enterprise Service Bus, REST, SOAP, JMS, Rabbit MQ, Kafka, MongoDB

  • Frontend development experience with Angular JS

  • High proficiency in English
