Kuehne+Nagel Network Systems Engineer (m/f/d) in Tallinn, Estonia

You'll join our global team of network security specialists, who ensure smooth IT operations by delivering stable and secure network services.

Your Role

We are looking for a Network Systems Engineer (m/f/d) who specializes in WAN technologies and network security to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure. You will ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our network, with particular emphasis on Cloud, Zscaler, and Cisco SDWAN products. As part of the Internet-based Services team in Tallinn, you will develop and manage our global Zero Trust Network Access and Secure Internet Gateway solutions with SD-WAN and Edge Routing products.

Your Responsibilities

  • Responsible for evaluating, designing, deploying, and managing network and network security solutions;

  • Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our network infrastructure;

  • Create, maintain, and enhance network automation scripts focused on provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring systems across on-premises and cloud environments;

  • Leverage automation for network solutions and utilize the infrastructure as code principle;

  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in network and cloud computing, bringing innovative ideas to improve network performance and scalability;

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement network policies, procedures, and best practices;

  • Document network processes, configurations, and procedures for knowledge sharing and future reference, encompassing cloud integration topics;

  • Provide technical expertise and support for network-related issues and escalations.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Around 3 years of experience in network engineering, focusing on WAN technology and network security;

  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and routing protocols;

  • Familiarity with network security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs;

  • Hands-on experience with Zscaler or Cisco SDWAN products (preferred);

  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent (preferred);

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment;

  • Strong communication (in English) and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
