Ryder System Senior Manager Reliability Engineering in Tallahassee, Florida

This position directs Ryder's FMS reliability and analysis function which has broad responsibility for evaluating the performance of Ryder's revenue earning equipment fleet, including vehicle and component performance.

Establish programs, policies and procedures for Ryder which will:

1- Develop reliability program in collaboration with our OEM partners to measure, monitor & report on product quality & reliability

2- Provide analytical based recommendations to FMS management

3- Develop vehicle specific running costs models by make and model

4- Drive cost savings throughout the FMS Maintenance Organization by obtaining raw data and turning it in to useful information

Establish a reliability program within Ryder to monitor the quality of vehicles and components provided by our suppliers. Establish and direct administration of the supplier control system to ensure a strong working relationship with OEMs and the development of common reliability program in line with OEM specifications. Specifically work in conjunction with OEMs to develop a predictive model that can be integrated with Shop Management Online (SMO) to determine if work being attempted is within expected parameters as defined by the engineering models

Identify systemic issues impacting the quality and reliability of Ryder's fleet and provide support for FMS Leadership in the development of action plans to correct the issues identified

Identify significant improvement opportunities to support division and corporate objectives

Coordinate the collection, organization and evaluation of data to identify opportunities to improve cost, quality and product line performance

Leverage reliability and fleet operating data to work with other Maintenance Standards and Engineering functions to improve Ryder's PM program and move towards a vehicle specific PM

Prepare and disseminate performance reports for use by Maintenance Operations and assist management in their interpretation/application to improve performance, including detailed monthly analysis of running costs & fleet performance

Coordinate resolution of strategic maintenance issues and reliability issues with the senior management review board

Review and report on performance against operational objectives and project success factors

Lead process improvement projects designed to promote reliability and product quality. Work with Vehicle Supply Management to use reliability data to optimize warranty/extended warranty programs

ADDITIONAL

  • Provide work direction and leadership to teams conducting inventory, reliability and operational analysis

  • Represent the company at industry meetings or on industry committees related issues

EDUCATION - Bachelor's Degree Industrial Engineering or related field Required

EXPRIENCE - 10 years or more Experience in related field, Transportation or vehicle/engine manufacturing industry Preferred

Applicants from California, Colorado, Connecticut Hawaii, New Jersey, New York City, and Washington - Salary is determined based on internal equity; internal salary ranges; market data/ranges; applicant’s skills; prior relevant experience; certain degrees or certifications, etc. The salary for this position ranges from $ 115,000 to $130,000. Salaries may be supplemented with a bonus as applicable and/or as business conditions allow.
