    Tasks related specifically to this position, including, but not limited to:

  • Coordinate and oversee the following state/federal grant/awards programs:

  • Commissioner's Task Force for Holocaust Education

  • African-American History Task Force

  • Florida Holocaust Museum

  • Provide leadership and coordination in the development/revision and implementation of the Florida Standards and corresponding courses K-12.

  • Plans, develops, organizes, and conducts training activities to assist districts in preparing for local staff development opportunities related specifically to the implementation of Florida Standards, statewide assessments, and applicable national/international assessments.

  • Assists in the development and implementation of curricular initiatives such as the Course Code Directory, instructional materials adoptions, and State Board of Education rules related to K-12 education.

  • Consults with and advises assessment personnel in the development and review of assessment materials including alternative assessments for K-12.

  • Facilitate/coordinate response to vendor/awardee needs as appropriate.

  • Participates in the activities of professional organizations as appropriate to provide statewide leadership for K-12 education.

  • Will participate in professional development for the enhancement of essential skills and content.

  • Will oversee the fidelity of instructional support and standards-based materials housed on CPALMS, IBTP, FLDOE.org and other DOE archived websites.
